Midnight loves working at the St. Louis Theatre Showcase. Like the legendary Theatre Crawl, it offers the opportunity to present 25 minutes or so of a featured performance, for a swath of St. Louis theatre companies, to a good-sized interested theatre
audience.
While most companies show a bit of something they’ve done or are about to to, we always like to write and create an original piece - figuring the best length for a good scene is about 25 minutes.
This year, the script was about a crazed, profit-focused book editor running rampant over a young serious first time novelist. Celeste Gardner (who played Fragrance Fellow in Midnight's SPIRITS TO ENFORCE) agreed to play the novelist. We had a fine time, and Celeste did a great job. Especially on our one night of performance.
Amidst the laughter and the applause, I think our little play entertained, pleased and satisfied.
